1
Set up a humidifier near where you sleep. Fill the humidifier with water that has a pinch of salt mixed into it, to the fill line, then place the heating unit in the humidifier and plug it in. You shouldn't try and aim the humidifier steam toward your face and it should be placed at least 4 feet from your bed. The humidifier may take five to ten minutes to warm up and start producing steam.

Purchase a nasal decongestant, such as Sudafed, to help break up the mucus in your nasal passages. As the mucus in your nasal passages begins to break up you will begin to feel less pressure on your ear canals.

Take a facial tissue and blow your nose, alternating between nostrils until nothing more will come out, whenever you start to feel it run. Don't sniffle, this only sucks the mucus back up into your nose, keeping your sinuses stuffed up.
