How to Wear Songbird Hearing AIDS

Songbird hearing aids are digital hearing aids designed to help those with mild or moderate hearing loss. They are designed to fit behind your ear. Songbird has two hearing aids to choose from. The Songbird Flexfit will last for 400 hours of use. It is disposable. The Songbird Ultra has a replaceable battery. If you're going to use your hearing aid continuously, the Songbird Ultra may be a better choice for you. Remember to clean your hearing aid tip of all ear wax after each use.

  1. Songbird Flexfit

    • 1

      Rotate the volume control to the volume you desire. The red line means it is off. Your volume level options are 1, 2 or 3.

      Position the main body of the hearing aid behind your ear so that the cord dangles in the front. Take the tip handle and very gently wiggle the tip into your ear. Push it back as far as possible while simultaneously pulling back on your ear. This will help it fit better.

      Adjust the fit if necessary by removing the hearing aid and pulling the cord to adjust the length. You can make the cord longer or shorter.

      Remove the Songbird Flexfit hearing aid by removing the main body from behind your ear. Do not yank the tip out by holding onto the body. Instead, grip the cord from a spot as far in your ear as possible and gently work the tip back and forth to remove. Turn the Songbird off by moving the volume control indicator to the red line. You should feel a clicking sensation.

    Songbird Ultra

      Connect either the right tip (red) or the left tip (blue) to the hearing aid. The one you use depends on which ear you're going to place your hearing aid in.

      Locate the battery door. Open it and place the battery inside. The battery is included in the hearing aid package.

      Place the hearing aid body over your ear in the same manner as the instructions for the Songbird Flexfit. Once the tip is inside your ear, fine-tune the retention cord so that it stays in the outer part of your ear. It will help keep the tip secure. Adjust the volume control as needed.

      Remove your Songbird Ultra in the same manner as you would the Songbird Flexfit. Remove the battery to turn the hearing aid off and conserve power.
