1
Wipe clean the body of the hearing aid with a clean cloth or tissue paper to remove dirt, oils and perspiration.
-
2
Brush across the two microphone openings to clear any dirt or debris that would block sound from entering the hearing aid.
-
3
Brush across the tip of the dome that covers the end of the thin-tube. This will clear ear wax that would block sound from leaving the thin-tube. Be careful not to push the bristles into the dome as this may push ear wax deep into the tube.
-
4
Gently squeeze the sides of the dome with the clean cloth or tissue paper to remove any wax that may adhere to that area.
-
5
Replace the dome if it tends to easily slide off the thin-tube.
-
6
Grasp the thin-tube housing where it connects to the hearing aid with your thumb and fore-finger. Gently rotate the housing one quarter-turn counter-clockwise to disconnect the thin-tube unit from the hearing aid.
-
7
Place the nozzle of the compressed air can into the opening of the thin-tube housing and blow out any wax, dirt or fluid that may be into the thin-tube.
-
8
Connect the thin-tube to the hearing aid by rotating the housing one quarter-turn clockwise and gently pushing at the same time.
-
9
Open the battery compartment and inspect the battery for rust or corrosion. If the battery is corroded, it will have a greenish color.
-
10
Inspect the interior of the battery door for rust or corrosion. Use a clean cotton swab to clean it.
