  1. How to Drain Water from the Ear

    • 1

Mix equal parts of rubbing alcohol and white vinegar in a small cup or bowl. This mixture will kill bacteria and dry out your ear.

    • 2

Tilt your head to one side with the affected ear toward the ceiling.

    • 3

Squeeze 4 to 6 drops of the mixture into the affected ear using a medicine dropper.

    • 4

Keep your head tilted for 20 seconds to let the mixture travel down your ear canal.

    • 5

Drain your ear. Tilt your head to the other side so your affected ear now faces downwards. Use a hand towel to catch any liquid that seeps out.

How to Drain Earwax from the Ear

    • 6

Tilt your head to one side with the affected ear toward the ceiling. Place 3 to 5 drops of baby oil into your ear. Repeat this process for a week to soften the wax.

    • 7

Fill a rubber bulb syringe with warm water.

    • 8

Tip your head to one side with the affected ear toward the ceiling. Use the syringe to squeeze some water into your ear.

    • 9

Drain your ear by tilting your head over the sink. Look for clumps of earwax in the sink.

    • 10

Continue the squirting and draining process until all of the earwax is removed.

    • 11

Place 3 to 4 drops of rubbing alcohol into your ear to dry it. Let the rubbing alcohol sit in your ear for 3 seconds before you drain it out.
