Wrap a tissue loosely around the edge of a cotton swab and gently insert the swab about 1/8 of an inch into your ear. If you don't know how far 1/8 of an inch is, just push it in until your ear canal begins to narrow. Cotton swabs are great for cleaning small spaces, but you've placed the tissue around it so that you don't push the blockage further into your ear accidentally.

With a twisting motion, gently twist and pull the swab out at the same time. Check the tissue to see whether you're getting anything out yet. If not, gently tip your head so that the clogged ear is down (parallel with the floor) and continue the twisting and pulling motion. Repeat this step as necessary.

You might be finished now, if your ear feels unclogged. If it doesn't, take the bulb suction and place it in your ear. Gently squeeze the bulb and then release. You should have collected whatever was clogging your ear. Repeat this step as necessary.

      Repeat step four if necessary.
