Instructions

    • 1

Select an assortment of colorful beads that can slip over the tubing of a hearing aid. Choose beads that fit snugly around the tube. Beads can be found at a local craft store or larger chains such as Target.

    • 2

Remove the hearing aid from the end of the tube where it attaches to the ear hook. Pull with a gentle twist and tug. If the tube is brittle, ask the audiologist to replace it with a flexible one.

    • 3

Add the first bead to the tube by slipping the bead over the tubing and sliding it down toward the earmold.

    • 4

Continue to add beads until the beads reach the end of the tubing. Experiment with different patterns and colored beads.

    • 5

Attach the tube to the hearing aid hook, pushing the tube on to the hook. Be careful not to bend or break the hook.

    • 6

Place the hearing aid back in the ear and be proud of the colorful beads. Change the bead color to match the outfit, wear school colors, or go for funky combinations. Use silver or gold beads for fancy occasions. Choose sports beads for sporting events.
