Gentisone HC is a sterile solution of Gentimicin and hydrocortisone. Gentamicin is a common antibiotic. Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid and anti-inflammatory. When combined, these create a powerful solution to help treat ear infections. Pain, redness, itching and swelling are common signs of ear infection. Instructions

    • 1

Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water.

    • 2

Clean the outer portion of your ear with soap and warm water. Dry the area with a towel.

    • 3

Remove the cap from the top of the bottle. Be careful not to touch the applicator.

    • 4

Tilt your head, so the infected ear is facing upward. Leaning over a sink will catch any excess solution.

    • 5

Lift the bottle over your ear and turn it upside-down. Do not insert the tip directly into the ear canal.

    • 6

Squeeze the bottle until two or three drops enter the ear canal. Continue to hold your head in position for two minutes.

    • 7

Lift your head slowly. A small amount of solution may leak from your ear. Wipe any excess solution off of your ear and face.

    • 8

Replace the cap and store the medication in a cool, dry place. Throw away any solution remaining in the bottle, at the end of your treatment period.
