How to Get Rid of Ear Wax Fast

Ear wax is produced daily by glands in your ears. This wax serves a valuable purpose -- it traps bacteria, dust, debris and other foreign particles, preventing them from entering your ear canal. Excess wax will naturally fall out on its own while you're washing, or during the course of the day. If ear wax accumulates, you may need to clean your ears with drops and a rubber syringe, to remove buildup.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Draw the oil, glycerin or peroxide up into the eyedropper. All of these substances work in the same way to soften ear wax.

    • 2

Lean your head to one side and drop three to five drops of fluid into your ear. Give the fluid several minutes to travel into the ear canal. Repeat on the other side.

    • 3

Apply the softening fluid to both ears twice a day, for up to five days, before irrigating with the bulb syringe.

    • 4

Fill the syringe with warm water.

    • 5

Lie on your right side. Tug up and back on your outer ear. This will straighten the ear canal to allow the water to travel through more easily.

    • 6

Squirt the warm water into your ear canal.

    • 7

Straighten your head and allow the water and wax to drain from your ear. Use the towel to absorb the draining fluid.

    • 8

Repeat the bulb irrigation on the left ear.
