How to Remove Ear Wax With Suction
Ear wax protects you from bacteria and is your body's own natural defense line. However, an excess of ear wax can lead to a number of uncomfortable and downright painful problems. According to the American Academy of Otolaryngology, if done incorrectly, removing your own ear wax can cause further complications. If you choose to use an over the counter removal method, it is important to follow all directions carefully. One safe and effective method of ear wax removal is using a suction bulb. The purpose of a suction bulb is to fill your ear canal with water to help loosen and flush out any build up of ear wax.Things You'll Need

1
Visit your local pharmacy to pick up your supplies. If there is a large selection of suction bulbs, you may want to ask a pharmacy technician to suggest a trusted brand.
-
2
Examine all directions and precautions on the suction bulb box carefully. It is very important that you do not cause yourself harm when using a self treatment method.
-
3
Fill your medicine dropper halfway with baby oil.
-
4
Tilt your head to drop two drops of baby oil in your ear. Hold this position for at least 30 seconds, so that the oil can travel down your ear canal and reach the build up of wax. Continue this practice for the next three to seven days.
-
5
Pour some tepid water into a bowl. Make sure that the temperature is not too hot as your ear canal is very sensitive to temperature and you could burn it and cause further damage.
-
6
Remove some of the water with your suction bulb. Tilt your head and use the suction bulb to squeeze the warm water into your ear. By this time, the oil will have loosened the ear wax and the water will help flush it all out. Because there will be a release of liquids, you may choose to do this step over a sink or to hold a towel over your ear to collect the water. You should feel a release of pressure.
