Why does my nose whistle when i breath?

Whistling noses can usually be traced to a physical obstruction inside your nose. These obstructions could be:

- A deviated septum, which is when the bone or cartilage that runs down the middle of the nose (called the nasal septum) is not straight, creating an obstruction in the nasal passages.

- Nasal polyps, which are growths of tissue that hang down from the lining of the nose and block airflow.

- An enlarged turbinate, which is when one or more of the three pairs of bony projections on the sides of the nose become swollen and obstruct the passage of air.

- A foreign body, like an object that you've inhaled, such as a piece of food or a toy, or an object you inserted yourself, like a piece of tissue.
