What is the use of nose?
Smell - The nose also plays a critical role in our sense of smell. There are millions of tiny sensory receptors in the nose that help detects the smells of the environment. These receptors send signals to the brain which interprets them as different smells. The sense of smell is closely linked to taste and the two work together to create the flavours of food.
Speech - The nose also helps in speech production by modifying the airflow from the lungs. This produces the sounds that we speak and helps to create clear and distinct speech.
Facial Aesthetics - The nose also contributes to our facial aesthetics and is an important part of facial recognition.
