1
Chew some gum or swallow repeatedly. Either of these can open the Eustachian tubes that run from the ear to upper throat.
-
2
Pinch your nose with your fingers and blow gently. If your ears are not too clogged, then this might make your ears pop and unclog them. Don't blow too hard so you don't damage the eardrum.
-
3
Take a hot shower or sit in the bathroom while a hot shower is running. Stay in the bathroom for at least 10 minutes. The steam from the hot shower can help alleviate the congestion.
-
4
Boil some water and allow it to cool until it is just warm. Pour some of it in a bowl and add an equal amount of hydrogen peroxide.
-
5
Fill an ear syringe with the hydrogen peroxide/water solution. Lie down on your side and squeeze the solution into your ear. Allow it to remain for about 10 minutes. Place an empty cup over your ear and turn your head so the solution empties into the cup. Repeat this process with the other ear.

Visit a doctor if none of the home remedies works. In severe cases, antihistamines can help clear and unclog the ear. You may need to see an ear, nose and throat specialist to diagnose what's causing the congestion in your ears.
