How to Use a Beeswax Ear Wax Removal Kit

The beeswax ear removal kit contains two beeswax candles that are used to draw out the wax from the inner ear. The heat from the wax candle functions as a suction to draw up the ear wax into the candle as the heat warms and loosens the wax. In order to use the beeswax ear wax removal kit, you will need one other person to help you. This person will be responsible for watching the ignited tip of the candle.

Instructions

    • 1

Prepare the paper plate by cutting a slit from the rim of the plate to the center. Use the scissors to cut a small round hole in the center of the plate the size of the candle. Make sure that the hole is snug around the candle to hold it in place.

    • 2

Place the candle in the center hole in the paper plate. Push the candle through the hole so at least two inches of candle is beneath the paper plate.

    • 3

Place the beeswax candle into the person's ear with the tapered tip of the candle right by the opening to the inner ear. Do not try to force the candle into the inner ear. It should cover the tiny hole inside the ear. The person must be lying down on his side. Make sure that all of the hair is pulled away from the ear.

    • 4

Use a lighter to ignite the tip of the beeswax candle on the top side of the plate. Have the person lying down with the candle in his ear hold the plate in place so that the candle does not move. The candle will produce flame, heat and ash, which is how the ear wax is drawn out of the ear.

    • 5

Continue to monitor the candle ash. As the candle burns and produces ash, the person in charge of the burning must use the scissors with the bowl water to cut the tip of the ash off so that it does not get too long and fall off onto the paper plate. Hold the bowl water right beneath the ash on the candle and use the scissors to cut the ash and drop it into the bowl water. Continue doing this until the candle burns within two inches of the paper plate. Then remove the beeswax candle from the ear with the paper plate and extinguish.
