How to Increase Cerumen Production
Cerumen, most commonly known as ear wax, is created by the ear to trap dust and other particles from reaching the inner ear and the ear drum. Usually, it dries up and falls out, along with any trapped particles. There are steps to increase cerumen production for those who want to better protect their ears. Keep in mind, however, that increased cerumen production can lead to some health problems, including impacted ear wax, which can cause hearing loss and requires a doctor to use a syringe to wash the wax away.Instructions

1
Take drugs that impact the apocrine sweat glands, such as pitocin, epinephrine and norepinephrine. These drugs have been shown to increase cerumen production in a study of 150 people.
-
2
Get scared or excited. Strong emotions such as fear and anxiety have been shown to increase production of apocrine sweat, which will increase the creation of cerumen in the ear.
-
3
Milk the sweat glands. Vigorous chewing can create a milking affect of the apocrine gland and lead to increased production of cerumen. While not advised, using a cotton swab to clean the inside of the ear can also create this milking effect.
