Can you get a staft infection from sharing drink?
Sharing drinks does carry the risk of transmitting certain infections caused by bacteria or viruses that can reside in the mouth or throat.
Sharing drinks with someone who has an active infectious disease, such as a bacterial infection (staph infection included), can increase the likelihood of transmission through contact with their saliva or respiratory droplets.
Although staph infections (caused by Staphylococcus bacteria) are commonly associated with skin infections, certain strains can also cause respiratory illnesses.
To minimize the risk of infection from sharing drinks, it's important to avoid sharing if someone is known to be sick, use separate cups or straws, and practice good personal hygiene, such as regular hand washing.
