1
Wash your hands before handling your contact lenses or touching your eyes. If you are working over a sink, make sure the drain is closed. If you are working over a counter or table, lay a towel over the surface to catch a contact lens in case you drop one.
-
2
Remove your right lens first. Look into the mirror and make sure both of your lenses are in place, in case a missing lens is causing your vision distortion. Once you verify both lenses are in place, remove the lens in your right eye and place it in the left side of the contact lens case.
-
3
Repeat with the left lens. Remove the contact and place it in the right side of the contact lens case.
-
4
Insert lenses beginning with the right lens, the contact you placed in the right side of the contact lens case. Rinse the lens with saline or the rinsing solution recommended by your eye care practitioner.
-
5
Rinse and insert the left lens. Allow the lenses to settle for a moment, close your eyes and blink gently a few times. Look in the distance and check to see if your vision is clearer with the lenses switched.
