How to Install Air Active Silicone Nose Pads

Glasses wearers know the discomfort that comes with wearing glasses all day; they can press into your nose, creating redness, pain and blisters.   Get Air Active Silicone Nose Pads in the appropriate size. The sizes with screw-in mounts available are 11 mm, 14.5 mm and 17 mm. Only one size, 13 mm, is available with a snap-in mount. The size depends on how high you want your eyeglasses to sit on your nose. Larger pads offer more support than smaller pads.

  Remove old nose pads from eyeglasses if necessary using a pair of tweezers -- either nose pad removal tweezers from an eyeglass repair kit or regular tweezers such as eyebrow tweezers.

  Clean your glasses using a soft cloth with an optional eyeglass cleaning solution. Focus on the nose area where the Air Active Silicone Nose Pads will be installed.

  Remove the Air Active Silicone Nose Pads from their packaging. There will usually be five pairs per package.

  Place a nose pad on your index finger and, holding the glasses in your other hand, simply push the nose pad with the wider part on top into place if you have the snap-in nose pads. Repeat for the second nose pad and make sure they are tightly in place. Both pads are the same and fit left and right. Put the glasses on to check for comfort. Fix if necessary by removing pads with tweezers and putting them in again. The silicone nose pads will adjust to your nose quickly.

  Unscrew the tiny screw from each nose pad if you bought the screw-in nose pads. Use a tiny screwdriver such as one which comes with an eyeglass repair kit. Gently place the nose pads one at a time onto the nose pad arm of the glasses, making sure they are secure. Then, put the screw back in until the nose pad is tight. The hole where the screw is placed is flexible and may be damaged if not mounted correctly before the screw is put in. As a result, it is easy to rip a nose pad if you're not careful.
