Original Acuvue Vs. Acuvue 2

Acuvue is the brand name given to a line of contact lenses made by the Johnson and Johnson company. According to the Acuvue website, Acuvue contact lenses are prescribed more than any other brand in the United States and the world.
  1. Acuvue Oasys

    • Acuvue Oasys contact lenses are made to be worn daily for two weeks before being replaced by another pair. Another option is to wear them 24 hours a day and replace them every six days. Acuvue Oasys contacts are designed to keep eyes moist and comfortable all day. Special models are available for those with astigmatism and presbyopia (age-related far-sightedness).

    1-Day Acuvue

    • As the name implies, these lenses are designed to be worn one day, discarded at the end of the day and then replaced with a fresh pair the next day. This model is available in three different designs: 1-Day Acuvue; 1-Day Acuvue Tru-Eye, made of breathable silicone hydrogel material; and 1-Day Acuvue Moist, for people whose eyes need extra hydration.

    Acuvue Advance

    • The Acuvue Advance line offers three models of contact lenses designed to be worn daily for two weeks, or worn 24 hours, then replaced after six days. Acuvue Advance Plus focuses on eye comfort, while two special models are available for patients with astigmatism and dry eyes.

    Acuvue 2

    • Designed to be worn for daily for two weeks, or to be worn 24 hours a day for six days, Acuvue 2 contact lenses are recommended for those who do not suffer from dry eyes, yet still want a thin, comfortable lens. They are available as standard clear lenses or eye-color-changing contacts with or without correction.

    Acuvue Bifocal

    • If you are suffering from presbyopia, otherwise known as "old eyes," and would rather not wear bifocals, Acuvue Bifocal may be the lens for you. These lenses feature five invisible zones that give you clear vision no matter what the task.
