How do I Adjust Magneticarms on Eye Glasses?
With the rising popularity of clip-on sunglasses, many eyeglass frames now come equipped with magnets for using with magnetic clip-on sunglasses. These magnetic pieces are sometimes at the bridge of the frames, but most often they're at the end pieces, adding an extra bump where usually the metal curves smoothly. With this extra piece in the way, how do you manipulate the arms if they get out of whack? Luckily, adjusting the magnetic arms on eyeglasses is almost as easy as adjusting standard eyeglass frames.Things You'll Need
- Eyeglass frames with magnetic arms
- Mirror
- Small standard screwdriver
- Needle-nose pliers

To assess the adjustment, put on your glasses and look in the mirror. Note if one side is higher than the other. Tuck in your chin and look at the glasses from the top. Note if one side is pushing out farther than the other.

2
The screws on most metal frames are located underneath the end pieces. Turn the glasses upside down. Brace the end piece against a counter or table. Tighten the screw with the standard screwdriver. Repeat for the other side. Turn the glasses upright, and tighten the visible hinge screws the same way.

3
Put on the glasses and look in the mirror. Note the adjustments. Sometimes a crooked pair of glasses will be straight once the screws are tight. If this is the case, you are finished. If the adjustment is unchanged, continue to Step 4.

Drape the soft rag over the end piece you intend to adjust. Insert the tip of the pliers between the protruding magnetic piece and the eye wire holding the lens. Do this on the outside of the rag to protect the finish on the frame. If one side of the frame is high, move that arm up. If one side of the frame is pushing out, move that arm out. Put on the glasses and look in the mirror. Repeat as necessary.
