How to See Through an Eye With Cataracts
A cataract is a disorder of the eye in which the lens, which is normally clear, becomes blurred or cloudy. A person with cataracts will have difficulty seeing things clearly because everything will look blurry to her as though looking through frosty or fogged windows. A person with cataracts may also experience glare from bright lights and difficulty seeing. A lens affected by cataracts can be surgically removed and replaced with an artificial lens. There are certain lifestyle adjustments that could be made while living with cataracts until they can be surgically treated.Things You'll Need

1
Wear sunglasses during the daytime. When you go outside in the day, the amount of light that goes into your eyes may cause glare on the eye that's affected with cataracts. Sunglasses help to minimize the glare so you can see better.
-
2
Use adequate lighting in your environment. Improve the amount and types of light in your home. Making your environment brighter may help you see better through eyes with cataracts. Be sure to use incandescent bulbs.
-
3
Avoid driving at night. Cataracts reduce your ability to see clearly, therefore driving at night when there is inadequate lighting may put you and others in danger.
-
4
Use available devices to improve your sight. Use all prescribed eyeglasses or contact lenses to see better and make sure you have accurate prescriptions for them. Read with magnifying glasses for better vision.
