How to Replace Eyeglass Lenses
Things You'll Need
- Small screwdriver
- Bowl
- Hot water
Instructions
-
Metal Frame
-
1
Loosen the screw from the side temple, but don't remove it all the way. If you accidentally unscrew the screw a little too far and it falls out, set it to the side so that you won't lose it.
-
2
Hold your eyeglass frame with one hand as you carefully slip the lens into place from inside the eyeglass frame.
-
3
Slide the lens into the rim of your frame starting at the outside near the screw. Adjust the lens on the inside of the rim near the nose.
-
4
Tighten the screw with the screwdriver. Be careful not to bend or twist the frame as you tighten the screw.
Plastic Frame
-
5
Put the plastic frame in a bowl of hot water for 20 minutes or until it becomes soft and pliable.
-
6
Hold your frame in one hand as you gently press the lens into the plastic frame with the other.
-
7
Push the lens inside the nose area of your frame. It will snap into the eyeglass frame easily with a bit of pressure.
