How to Make a Boric Acid Eye Mixture

Your eyes were naturally created to produce tears to wash away any dirt or dust that may enter them. Sometimes, they don't produce as many tears as they need to, which can leave your eyes feeling dry or dirty. In this case, you can make a simple eye wash mixture at home with medicinal boric acid powder.

Things You'll Need

• 1 tablespoon medicinal boric acid powder
• 1 cup water
• Pot
• Eye wash cup
• Cotton ball

  Place one cup of water in a pot and set it on the stove. Turn the heat to high and wait for the water to come to a boil.

  Pour in your boric acid powder and remove the pot from the heat. Mix until both ingredients are combined.

  Allow the boric acid mixture to cool off and then pour some in an eye wash cup.

  Tilt your face forward and place the cup around the eye. Then quickly tilt your head backward so that the solution is now on the eye.

  Roll your eye up and down and side to side so that the solution can get to all parts of the eye. Then tilt your head forward again and remove the cup.

  Repeat with the other eye.

  Dip a cotton ball in to the solution to wipe off any dirt that you could not get just by flushing your eye.
