Obtain your most current prescription for contact lenses from your eye doctor. Your doctor is required by law to provide it to you if you ask her. No matter where you get your contact lenses, they will need to see a valid prescription to fill your order.

Visit your local discount warehouse, such as Costco or Sam's Club, if you already have a membership with one of them. Through them, you can purchase prescription disposable soft contacts in bulk, which can save you a lot of money. If you wear rigid gas permeable contacts, also known as hard contacts, you should also be able to save money purchasing these through your warehouse store of choice.

Compare prices among online contact lens retailers. Contact lens specialist sites such as 1-800-Contacts and Discount Contact Lenses can offer good value for your particular lens. If you wear RGP lenses, however, you should be aware that not all online retailers stock them. As an example, Express Contacts and Discount Contact Lenses both do, while 1-800-Contacts does not.
