How to Use Eyebright Extract Tincture in Eyes
Eyebright (also euphrasia) is a plant historically used to support a healthy eye. It grows in Hungary, Bulgaria and the Balkans, and is grown commercially in Europe. The plant contains flavonoids, iridoid glycosides and some tannins. It is used to treat several eye conditions including inflammation, conjunctivitis, sinusitis, eye strain, tired eyes, failing vision and sore and itchy eyes.The only side effect to watch out for is if you are allergic to the herb, which is extremely rare.

- Eyebright herb, 2,000 mg to 4,000 mg

Buy the tincture in capsules or liquid form on the market. The tincture is a liquid extract. Get the ones that have the highest potency and/or are organic to maximize the effect.

Follow the product directions. In general use 30 to 60 drops in water or juice two to three times daily or as needed.

Make the tincture if you like going to the source and maximizing the effect. Get the herb and distill it as a tea preparation for oral use. Typically use 2,000 mg to 4,000 mg of dried eyebright herb, added to about 5 oz. of boiling water. Allow to soak for about 10 minutes. Strain the solid particles before drinking the tea. Drink up to three cups of eyebright tea every day until the condition is relieved.
