1
Fold an old bath towel in half and lay it on your work surface to prevent the glue or nail polish remover from dripping or spilling.
-
2
Wash and thoroughly dry your old eyeglass frame. If any previous repairs have been done to the frame, be sure to scrape or pick off any remaining dried glue with the screwdriver.
-
3
Place one or two drops of a fast-drying epoxy glue on the cracked piece of frame. Line up the pieces that have separated and gently adhere them with the glue. Hold the pieces firmly, being careful not get glue on your hand, which can result in your hand getting stuck to the frame.
-
4
Wrap rubber bands around the section of the frame where you have glued, if possible. This works especially well if the part of the frame that is cracked is the eyewire, the part that holds the lenses in place. Allow the glue to dry completely, for at least five to ten minutes.

5
Remove the rubber bands carefully and check to see if the adhesive is holding. The glue will hold small fractures and breaks, but if the frame is old and brittle or the crack is too big, super glue will be a very temporary fix and may not hold long.

6
Remove and drips or excess glue by using acetone nail polish remover on a cotton swab. Quickly wipe off dried glue but do not let the nail polish remover come in contact with the frame for more than a few seconds as it can remove the finish of the frame.
