How to Choose Eye Glasses for Face Shap
-
1
Determine your face shape. It will either be oval, round, heart, triangle, square, oblong or diamond.
-
2
Get glasses with tall frames or broad rims if you have an oblong face shape. An oblong shape is longer than it is wide. Tall frames will help create a shorter face.
-
3
Look for glasses that are angular or geometric in shape if you have a round face. A round face has full cheeks and a rounded chin. Geometric shapes will help sharpen the facial features. Rectangular and horizontal styles will make the face look longer and thinner.
-
4
Get oval- or round-framed glasses if you have a square face. The square face shape has a broad forehead and a strong jawline. The width and the length are also proportionate. Stay away from geometric eyeglasses. They will accentuate the angles on the face.
-
5
Get bottom-heavy frames or narrow, round frames if you have a heart-shaped face. A heart face shape is wide at the top and narrow at the bottom. Bottom-heavy frames will add width to the lower face and narrow, round frames will soften the forehead.
-
6
Choose semi-rimless or top-heavy frames for a triangle face shape. A triangle face shape is wide at the bottom and narrow at the top. Semi-rimless frames will accentuate the upper face and top-heavy frames will balance the width of the jaw.
-
7
Choose oval, upswept or rimless styles for a diamond face shape. The diamond shape features broad cheeks and is narrow at the eye line and jawline. Oval shaped glasses will maintain balance; upswept and rimless styles will emphasize the cheek bones.
-
8
Choose geometric shaped glasses for an oval face shape. An oval face features a chin that is slightly narrower than the forehead and high cheek bones. It is commonly known as the ideal shape and many styles will work well.
