How to Care for Your Aqua Tech Contacts

Aquatech 55 contacts are soft contact lenses you can wear as a daily contact or as disposable lenses, usually for a week at a time. Your eye doctor determines the length of time you wear this type of lens. Aquatech lenses are a store brand identical to Coopervision's Biomedics 55 and Ultraflex55 contacts and require the same type of care. One of the main benefits of Aquatech lenses is that they require very little maintenance.

  Remove your lenses as prescribed by your doctor. When Aquatech 55 contact lenses are worn as daily lenses, take them out each night. When Aquatech lenses are prescribed as extended wear, remove the lenses every few days as directed by your doctor.

  Store lenses in your contact case in saline solution or the type of soaking or storing solution suggested by your eye care practitioner when you are not wearing them.

  Dispose of lenses when you have completed your wearing cycle. When Aquatech 55 lenses are prescribed as weekly disposable lenses, throw away the lenses after you have worn them for your prescribed period and replace with a new pair.

  Rehydrate lenses if they become dried out. Occasionally a soft contact lens can become dry or brittle if exposed to air for too long or left in a case without saline solution. Soak in your recommended storing solution for at least an hour to rewet the lens.

  Loosen a stuck lens by applying prescribed rewetting or lubricating drops to the lens and waiting a few moments before trying to remove them. Lenses can become stuck on the eye if you are not blinking enough or if you are in a dry atmosphere. Always make sure the lens can move a little on your eye before trying to take the lens out.

  Do not wear contacts overnight unless your doctor has prescribed them for extended wear. Your eye care practitioner will detail how you are to wear your contact lenses and follow up with you on several appointments to verify your wearing schedule and how you are caring for your Aquatech contact lenses.
