What is Miracle II Neutralizer?

Miracle II Neutralizer is a multi-purpose cleanser produced by private company Tedco, Inc. The manufacturer claims that it works because it has been anointed by God, and that there is prayer in every bottle. However, this cleanser has not been approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and dispute continues over its claims.
  1. What It Is

    • Manufacturer Tedco, Inc. claims that Miracle II Neutralizer is an organic, biodegradable cleanser that contains no chemicals or preservatives, and that it is designed by God. It is a clear liquid packaged in a plastic spray bottle, and it is promoted as a cleanser that can be used to refresh and hydrate the skin, set makeup and cleanse the spirit, as well as treat various skin conditions and other ailments.

    Ingredients

    • The Miracle II website lists the ingredients in Miracle II Neutralizer as "prayer, electrically engineered eloptic energized stabilized oxygenated water, ash of dedecyl solution, calcium, potassium, magnesium 940 (carbopol), and the Anointing of God." However, Tedco, Inc. insists on keeping the formula for Miracle II Neutralizer a trade secret.

    History

    • Miracle II soap was first used as an industrial cleaner in restaurants and bars more than 24 years ago. Because the formula was said to be all-natural and safe for the environment, consumers began to use it for other purposes, including bathing and treating skin conditions and cancers. As customers began to use the soap for brushing their teeth and even consumption, the bubble portion of the liquid was extracted, leaving only the clear and much more pleasant-tasting "neutralizer" behind. The Neutralizer was then packaged and sold as an eyewash and a treatment for such conditions as diabetes, diaper rash, gout, earache, Crohn's disease and skin cancer.

    Problems

    • The claims of Tedco, Inc. with regard to the benefits of Miracle II Neutralizer were never substantiated, and, in 2005, bottles of the product were found to be contaminated with E. coli bacteria. The FDA cracked down on Tedco, Inc. and its Miracle II products, claiming that the products used "deceptive and untruthful claims to lure consumers into potentially dangerous situations." Canadian authorities followed suit several months later by prohibiting the sale of Tedco, Inc.'s Miracle II products.

    Status

    • As of 2009, the FDA maintains its stance that Miracle II Neutralizer is not safe for use, and it advises consumers to avoid it. However, Tedco, Inc. continues to manufacture Miracle II products, and they are sold by a variety of online retailers, including directly from Tedco via its Miracle II website.
