Pink eye (Conjunctivitis) is an extremely contagious bacterial infection of the eye. Pinkeye causes the eye to turn a pink in color and tear and crust. It can also be very itchy causing the infected person to rub their eyes which is also why it's so contagious. Here are some steps to follow to avoid spreading pink eye (Conjunctivitis).

      Visit your doctor. Get checked out and have your pink eye (Conjunctivitis) diagnosis as soon as possible so your doctor can prescribe pink eye medication. Follow the medication' s directions and take it faithfully.

      Stay home. Avoid contact with other people while you have pink eye (conjunctivitis). Stay home from work or school. Avoid any areas of your home or situations where you will be surrounded by other people.

      Wash your hands after touching your eyes. Use anti-bacterial soap and wash for at least 2 minutes with very warm water. Try to keep your hands away from your eyes to above spreading pink eye (conjunctivitis). Use disinfectant spray to clean all surfaces you may have touched.

      Wash your sheets in warm water to avoid re-contaminating yourself with pink eye (conjunctivitis). Add a bleach product to your wash to kill any bacteria which may remain.
