Eye Exercise Games
Glasses, eye drops, laser surgery. Improving your eyesight doesn't always have to be annoying or possibly dangerous. You can perform simple exercises at home that will keep your eyes in tip-top shape. Many eyesight exercises are fun and easy, making them ideal for people of any age to do. If you ever feel your eyes being strained while performing the exercises, rub your hands together until they are very warm and then place the palms of your hands over your closed eyes for a minute or two.-
Near and Far
-
Get comfortable while sitting down in a chair. Focus on something no more than 5 feet away. Make sure to notice all the details of the object and keep your eyes smoothly moving. Never fix your eyes on one area of the object. After 20 seconds, move your focus to an object that is far away (at least 20 feet away). Move your eyes around the object for 20 seconds until you switch back over to a different object that is close to you. Keep alternating between near and far objects until you focus on four or five of each.
Finger to Nose
-
Stand up with your arm fully extended in front of you. Stick out your index finger, and focus your eyesight on the tip of your finger. Slowly bring your arm towards you until your finger touches the tip of your nose. Keep a fixed focus on the tip of your finger, and slowly extend your arm out to the starting position. Don't move your head and keep a steady focus the entire time. Do this 10 times.
Name Game
-
Sit or stand and close your eyes. Keeping your head completely still, imagine using your eyes to write out your name. Focus on one letter at a time rather than your entire name. Write your first and last name in lowercase, uppercase and cursive. Do this three to four times.
Round and Round
-
Close your eyes and cover your eyes with the palms of your hands. Roll your eyes clockwise at a slow and steady pace for four to five full rotations. Once finished, roll your eyes counterclockwise for four or five full rotations.
Hidden Pictures
-
Some of the best games to exercise your eyes have to do with looking for pictures within a picture. Many books specialize in this, and you can find many sites online that offer the service. This skill lets us pick out details without getting confused by the background or surrounding images. You'll usually be asked to look at something like the face of an old man and try to find the face a young woman within the drawing.
