Tips for the Use of Systane
Systane is a lubricating eye drop used to treat dry eyes. The product works like an artificial tear. It brings moisture back to your eyes so that you are no longer in discomfort. You can also use this product to help rinse out any dirt that may have gotten in your eye. The product is conveniently sold at most grocery stores, department stores and pharmacies.-
Wash Your Hands
-
You are going to need to use a few fingers to hold your eyelids open. This means that you need to wash your hands with soap and water. Otherwise, you may get dirt or bacteria in your eye when you go to put the Systane drops in. Dry your hands completely after you are done washing them so that you can get a good grip on your eyelids.
Preparing the Bottle
-
It is best if you take the bottle of Systane lubricating drops out of the box and begin to shake it. This will ensure that all of the ingredients are mixed together properly. Unscrew and remove the lid.
Apply the Drops
-
Hold one eye open by having your thumb hold down the bottom eyelid. Use your index finger to hold open the upper eyelid. Now tilt your head back about 45 degrees. Hold the bottle of Systane over the eye with your free hand and squeeze it until two drops come out. Then you can let go of your eyelids. Switch hands and do the same to the opposite eye. Use whenever your eyes begin to feel dry again.
