How to Use Lumigan
Lumigan is a prostamide medication available in eye-drop form which is often used in the treatment of certain types of glaucoma or intraocular hypertension. These disorders restrict the flow of fluid that is continually being produced by the eye causing pressure buildup. Lumigan drops provide relief by increasing the flow of fluid out of the eye and therefore reducing internal pressure.Things You'll Need

The Steps
-
1
Consult your physician to determine the appropriate dose of Lumidan. There is a standard, recommended dose of Lumidan. However, the dose of this drug is highly specific and depends on body weight, the condition being treated, and the presence of concurrent illnesses.
-
2
Take care to avoid contamination. Wash your hands before handling Lumidan eye drops. When removing the cap, be sure to place it on a clean surface. Also, be sure not to allow the tip of the eye-dropper to come into contact with your eye or any other surface.
-
3
The recommended dose of Lumidan is one drop, applied to the affected eye(s) each evening. To apply Lumidan drops, tilt your head back and look toward the ceiling. Next, place your finger on your lower eyelid and pull gently downward, creating a pocket between your lower lid and your eye. Squeeze a single drop into the pocket.
-
4
Gently press on the inner corner of your eye (between the bridge of your nose and your tear duct) for thirty seconds. This step will ensure that the Lumidan drops do not enter your bloodstream through the tear duct which may result in mild side effects.
-
5
Wash your hands. The drops will begin to work four hours after application. Do not discontinue using Lumidan drops without consulting your physician.
