How to Use Travatan
Travatan is the brand name of travoprost, which is a sterile ophthalmic solution. The eye drops are prescribed to patients with certain eye conditions in order to relieve pressure caused by their condition. Patients with glaucoma as well as hypertension of the eye will often be given a prescription for Travatan. Take Travatan as directed by your physician.Instructions

1
Fill the dropper that comes with Travatan with the solution. Place the dropper over the affected eye while you tilt your head back. Hold your eye open with your fingers if this helps.
-
2
Squeeze one drop of the Travatan solution into the eye. Blink several times to work the solution through the eye while holding down your tear duct to prevent the dose from leaking out of the eye.
-
3
Repeat this process for the other eye if you need to treat both eyes. Only a single drop should be placed in this eye as well. If you are prescribed another eye medication, you should wait a minimum of five minutes before placing another solution in the eyes.
-
4
Wait 24 hours before taking your next dose of Travatan. Only a single Travatan drop should be placed in each eye daily. More than that dosage may adversely affect the medication's ability to lower eye pressure. It is recommended by most physicians that you use Travatan once each evening.
