How to Reverse Glaucoma
Glaucoma is a range of disorders that cause optic nerve damage, causing vision loss or even blindness. Glaucoma is usually a slow, progressive condition that is not detected until the disease is severe and advanced. Early testing and treatment is the most beneficial way to prevent glaucoma, but some treatments help alleviate symptoms for patients.Instructions

1
Use eye drops. Your doctor may prescribe eye drops that are beneficial for people with increased pressure in the optic nerve that causes damage. The eye drops come with several different active ingredients, but all of them reduce damage by increasing drainage that builds up in the eye and inhibits the growth of the aqueous humor.

2
Use oral medication. Some doctors prescribe oral medications to reduce the side effects of glaucoma and save vision loss. Two common medications are acetazolamide and methazolamide.
-
3
Volunteer in drug studies. Two medications are under clinical trials to reverse the nerve damage caused by glaucoma. Brimonidine and memantine are also being tested for optical nerve coating and protection.

4
Undergo surgical procedures. Surgery is available to relieve pressure when oral medications are not feasible. Surgery such as trabeculoplasty uses laser beams to reduce pressure and correct glaucoma effects.

5
Change your diet and lifestyle. Fluids consumed too quickly increase pressure in the eye. Slowly sip fluids, and exercise regularly to reduce fluid pressure in the body.
