How to Use Systane

Systane is a brand of lubricating eye drops that provide relief for severely dry eyes. The Systane line of products includes four different types of eye treatments. The Systane ULTRA Lubricant Eye Drops is a high performance lubricant best for those with extremely dry eyes, the Systane Lubricant Eye Drops provides moisturizing effects throughout the day, the Systane Preservative-Free Eye Drops is specifically formulated for very sensitive eyes and the Systane NIGHTTIME Lubricant Eye Ointment provides hydration throughout the night.

Instructions

Using the Eye Drops

  Choose which of the Systane eye drops is right for your specific condition. You may want to discuss the options with your doctor before settling on any one.

  Shake the bottle of Systane eye drops vigorously to mix the ingredients.

  Tilt your head back and lift your upper eyelid with your finger.

  Apply 1-2 drops into each eye.

• 5

  Reapply throughout the day as needed or whenever your eyes feel particularly dry.

Using the Nighttime Ointment

  Remove contact lenses before using the Systane Nighttime Eye Ointment.

  Pull down the lower lid of your eye with your finger.

• 8

  Apply a quarter-inch of the ointment directly onto the inside of the eyelid.

  Use once a day before bedtime.
