1
Wash your hands with soap and water. Try to use antibacterial soap. This is because your hands carry a lot of germs, which can pass to your eye if touched with your hands.
-
2
Rinse the eyewash cup with some of the eyewash. The eyewash is sterile, so rinsing the cup with it will make sure that no germs transfer from the cup to your eye.
-
3
Open the bottle of eyewash and pour the eyewash in the cup. You only need to fill it halfway.
-
4
Tilt your head forward and place the cup so that it surrounds your eye. Make sure it is tight around the rim so that none of the eyewash leaks out.
-
5
Swing your head backward and then open your eye. The eyewash will begin to clean out your eye.
-
6
Move your eye all around while the wash is on your eye so that it gets to all of the parts of your eye. Continue doing this for a few minutes.
-
7
Lean forward again and remove the cup. Dump the eyewash out and rinse the cup out with some fresh eyewash. This will get your cup ready for the next time you want to use it.
