How to Help the Blind Arrange Currency in Their Wallet

Knowing how much cash we have in our pockets is something we all take for granted. Blind people have no way to keep track of what's in their wallets except through memory and the honesty of other people. Here are some steps for helping a blind person recognize the value of the currency they are carrying.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert one dollar bills normally: unfolded and parallel with the opening of the wallet.

    • 2

Fold five dollar bills in half three times until they are the approximate size of a stick of chewing gum.

    • 3

Take a ten dollar bill and fold it in half horizontally once: the top left corner should be matched to the top right corner of the bill, and the bottom left corner should be matched to the bottom right corner of the bill.

    • 4

Manipulate 20 dollar bills by folding them in half like a ten dollar bill, then folding them a second time to resemble a triangle. After you fold the bill in half, take the bottom left corner of the bill and match it to the top right corner.
