What Is Central Serous Retinopathy?
CSR is most common in young to middle-aged men. The exact cause is unknown, but it is thought to be related to stress, high blood pressure, and certain medications.
Symptoms of CSR can develop suddenly and may last for several weeks or months. They can include:
* Blurred vision
* Dark spots in the vision
* Distorted vision
* Difficulty seeing in bright light
* Headaches
CSR is usually treated with eyedrops or laser surgery. The goal of treatment is to reduce fluid buildup and improve vision.
In most cases, CSR is a temporary condition and vision returns to normal within a few months. However, it can sometimes cause permanent damage to the retina, which can lead to vision loss.
