What is the Warty lump on top of my eyelid?
Styes are typically caused by a bacterial infection (usually *Staphylococcus aureus*) of the oil glands found at the base of the eyelashes. Chalazion is another common cause of eyelid swelling. It occurs when one of the oil glands in the eyelid becomes blocked and swollen. When styes and chalazia affect the glands deep in the eyelid’s oil-producing glands these swollen, tender swellings are most often referred to as internal hordeola or internal styes.
