No. Strep throat and pink eye are caused by different bacteria and viruses. Strep throat is caused by bacteria called Streptococcus pyogenes (also known as Group A Streptococcus or GAS). Pink eye is usually caused by bacteria or viruses. The most common cause of bacterial pink eye is Haemophilus influenzae, while the most common cause of viral pink eye is adenovirus.
