Can the human eyes grow back?

The cornea (the clear outermost layer of the eye) has some ability to regenerate itself through the process of corneal epithelialization, which involves the migration and proliferation of residual epithelial cells to cover any damaged areas. However, the other parts of the human eyes, such as the lens, retina, and optic nerve, generally do not have the capacity to regenerate or grow back to the same extent.
