Can mometasone furoate cream usp be used around eyes?

Mometasone furoate cream USP is not recommended to be used around the eyes. Please take special care when applying a topical corticosteroid not to get the medication in your eyes. Topical corticosteroids can cause serious eye problems if your medicine gets into your eyes. Corticosteroids may increase the risk of developing a cataract or glaucoma, especially in people who already have these conditions, when applied to the face and eyelids. Contact your doctor right away if you develop eye pain, vision changes, or other eye symptoms while using this medicine.
