Can people born with one eye?

Yes, it is possible for people to be born with one eye, a condition known as cyclopia. Cyclopia occurs when the embryo fails to develop two separate eye sockets and instead forms a single, central eye. This rare condition is often associated with other severe developmental abnormalities, such as a single nostril, a fused upper lip, and a proboscis-like structure in the middle of the face. Cyclopia is usually incompatible with life, and affected infants typically die shortly after birth.
