Can bell s palsy affect eyesight?

In very rare cases, Bell's palsy can cause complications that affect the eye, including:

- Corneal ulcer: The inability to completely close the eyelid can sometimes cause the surface of the eye (cornea) to become dry, leading to a corneal ulcer. This can cause pain, blurred vision, and, if left untreated, scarring of the cornea.

- Conjunctivitis (pink eye): Due to the eye's inability to produce tears, exposure to dust and other irritants can lead to conjunctivitis. Symptoms include redness, swelling, itching, and a gritty feeling in the eye.

If you experience any eye symptoms along with Bell's palsy, it's important to see a doctor for evaluation and treatment.
