Why would your eye turn yellow?
Yellow eyes or jaundice is caused by a buildup of bilirubin, a yellow pigment that occurs when red blood cells are broken down. Jaundice can be a sign of liver disease, bile duct obstruction, or certain blood disorders. In newborn babies, jaundice is common and usually resolves on its own within a few weeks. However, if jaundice persists or appears in an adult, it's important to see a doctor to determine the cause and receive treatment.
