Is atrophine ophth solution used to treat pink eye?

Atropine ophthalmic is not typically used to treat pink eye (conjunctivitis). It is commonly used to dilate the pupils of the eyes during eye examinations or to treat certain eye conditions such as uveitis (inflammation of the middle layer of the eye) or postoperative inflammation. Pink eye is usually treated with antibiotic or antiviral eye drops or ointments to target the underlying infection. However, sometimes doctors can use drops containing both atropine and an antibiotic/ steroid combination when the cause is uncertain or in certain specific severe scenarios to reduce inflammation and control excessive pupil constriction (miosis). It's always best to consult with an eye doctor to get the appropriate diagnosis and treatment for pink eye.
