How to Protect Your Reading Glasses

Once you've made an investment in a good pair of glasses to help you read the fine print, you'll want to take excellent care of them and prolong their life.

Keep your reading glasses in a protective case when you are not wearing them. You can also wear them on a cord or chain that attaches to the earpieces and allows them to hang around your neck.

    • 2

Avoid allowing your lenses to come in contact with any surface or gritty or grainy material. Eyeglass lenses scratch easily, so protect yours at all times.

    • 3

Keep track of your reading glasses ,and never leave them where someone may sit on them or lay something on top of them. Leaving your reading glasses on chairs, counters and tabletops is inviting trouble.

    • 4

Use a two-handed method to remove our glasses after wear. Avoid twisting your glasses when you put them on or take them off. You can easily knock your frames out of shape and destroy the delicate fit of your glasses.

    • 5

Always clean your reading glasses with a spray cleaner and microfiber cloth specially made for eyeglasses. Avoid using harsh soaps, scratchy rags or paper towels to clean your frames and lenses.
