Instructions on How to Put in Contact Lens
If you are new to wearing contacts, putting the lenses in your eyes can seem nearly impossible. Your eyes may involuntarily close, as you attempt to insert your lenses -- you may struggle to get your lenses out of the case -- or you may get the lenses into your eyes, only to struggle with their placement. Inserting your contact lenses without damage to your eye or the lenses requires patience and the proper technique. With practice, inserting your lenses will become second nature.Things You'll Need

1
Wash your hands thoroughly and dry with the paper towel. Place your contact lens case and the mirror on the work surface.
-
2
Open one side of the contact case. Gently remove the contact lens by pouring it into your hand, or dabbing it with your finger. Shake the contact around in the solution to dislodge it, if it is stuck to the sides of the case.
-
3
Hold the lens up, so that is eye-level. Check to make sure the lens is not inside out. Squirt clean contact solution onto the lens to rinse it.
-
4
Balance the lens on the index or middle finger of your dominant hand, so that the edges of the lens face up. Open your eye wide. Use your opposite hand to gently pull up on the upper lid and lashes of the eye and down on the lower lid, if you have a tendency to blink.
-
5
Tilt your head down so that your chin is angled towards your chest. Position your gaze upwards, so that you are looking directly into the mirror.
-
6
Gently place the contact lens directly on the eye. Do not press the lens onto the eye. Gently use the same finger to slide the lens over your cornea.
-
7
Remove your finger and look down, towards the floor. Slowly close your eye and roll it in a complete circle to help the lens fall into place.
-
8
Re-open your eyes and check to make sure the lens feels comfortable and you can see clearly. Repeat the entire process for the opposite eye.
