How to Make an Eye Wash Solution
Dry, irritated eyes can make you miserable. Commercial eye drops may help relieve the symptoms, but what if you don't have any around the house? While it may seem natural to try to hydrate your eyes with water, you can end up irritating them more. The body functions at a low level of salinity, which pure water lacks. In addition to lacking salt, tap water may contain additives such as chlorine or fluorine that can worsen your symptoms.Things You'll Need

- Spoon
- Stove
- 2 cups distilled water
- 1/2 tsp. salt

Pour 2 cups of distilled water into the pot.

Bring the water to a boil. Add 1/2 tsp. of salt, and stir to dissolve it.

Remove from the heat and allow to cool completely before using. This solution may be used for up to two days before it should be discarded.
