How to Read the Size of Glasses
There are four basic measurements that determine the size of your eyeglasses. The lense or eye size, bridge size and temple size are usually stamped inside the temple or the bridge of the eyeglasses. A typical example is 49-20-141. For the proper fit, take all of these separate measurements into consideration when selecting your eyeglasses. The vertical size is the vertical height of the eyeglasses lenses and is only necessary when ordering multifocal lenses. Eyeglass frames are measured in millimeters.Instructions

Look at the first number that appears on the inside of the template or on the bridge of your eyeglasses. This number represents the lense or eye size. It is the horizonatal width of each lense. Lense sizes typically vary from 44 to 52 mm. If the numbers are worn off, you can determine the lense size by measuring the distance between the vertical sides of the lense.

Look at the second number listed. This is the bridge size. It is the horizontal distance between the nasal surfaces of the rim. The measurement is taken at the shortest point between the lenses. Bridge size does not vary greatly and is typically around 20. Bridge size will determine how the glasses will sit on your face.

Look at the third number listed. This number is the temple size and represents the arm length. This measurement is taken from the beginning of the arm to the very end. Temple sizes are typically between 120 and 150 mm.
